Quarter 4
Math
Log in to https://www.ixl.com/signin/cotswold . Choose 5th Grade level. Work on MULTIPLICATION, DIVISION, PROBLEM SOLVING, NUMBER THEORY, Fraction and Mixed Numbers, Add and Subtraction Fractions, and Multiply Decimals segments. The following EXTRA CREDIT points will be added to your Math class grades for the QUARTER.
PROBLEMS ATTEMPTED: (Must have at least an 80 % average to get full credit.)
25: receive 10 points
26 – 50 receive 20 points
51 – 75 receive 30 points
76 – 100 receive 40 points
101 – 150 receive 50 points
151 – 200 receive 60 points
200 – 250 receive 70 points
251 – 300 receive 80 points
301 – 350 receive 100 points
Literacy:
Students may choose to complete more bullets in their Double Entry Journal to earn extra points.
5 bullets is the class requirement. Students can earn up to 50 points back on low grades in literacy. The points are as follows:
10-20 bullets=10 extra points
21-30=20 extra points
31-40= 30 extra points
41-50=50 extra points
Writing
Log in to KidBlog . Create separate blogs during the quarter of at least 20 or more sentences. ( Please put EC after your title, so your Extra Credit submission will be clearly evident.)10 MAXIUM EXTRA CREDIT points will be given for each blog meeting requirements which will be added to Writing grades for the QUARTER. (Maximum of 80 Extra Credit points each quarter.)
(To get MAXIMUM credit, blogs must be grammar, punctuation, paragraph correct and blogs are to be DRAFTED in Writing Journal before being published.) MAKE SURE YOU PUT EC - AFTER YOUR BLOG TITLE so your Extra Credit submission will be clearly evident.
Science
Using the McGraw-Hill web site, students will have two choices for Science Extra Credit.

e-Journal or Lesson Review
e-Journal Requirements: Complete each step called for in the investigation. Turn in complete investigation for 30 Extra Credit points per lesson. (Notate the textbook Unit letter and Title of Unit plus note Lesson #.)

Lesson Review Requirements: Complete online review test. Print off page of results. If there are printer issues, copy the number of questions you did correctly. Example: I answered 7 out of 7 correctly. Parent must sign this certification. 10 Extra Credit points per lesson. (Notate the textbook Unit letter and Title of Unit plus note Lesson #.)
Social Studies
Students may earn a maximum 20 EXTRA CREDIT points for completing the unit tutorial that we have studied in class. Students may take the online tutorial at http://tutorial.historyalive.com/ . (Log in with your FIRST and LAST NAME.) When students are satisfied with the score they achieve on the tutorial test, the test score is printed off and turned in to Mrs. McWhirter with the student’s NAMEin the RIGHT CORNER. Students who have printer issues may write their score on a sheet of paper labeling it with student name, date,Name and Unit of test taken, and score. Parents have to sign the score for verification. (Students may take the tutorial test as many times as they want until they achieve their desired score and turn in their best score.)
